We love our community and strive to build strong bonds in the great city of Calgary and the surrounding area! Whether it's participating in community events, volunteering, fundraising, or sharing important local pet information, giving back to our community is at the core of what we do.

Community Involvement

Calgary Flames Pet Calendar.JPG

Calgary Flames Pet Calendar

With help from the Calgary Flames and Harvey the Hound, we had the pleasure of presenting over $7000 of proceeds from the sale of the 2020 Flames Pet Calendar to the Cochrane & Area Humane Society and Ferret Rescue & Education Society (FRES)!

We are proud to be partnered with these outstanding organizations that make a difference in our community.

Pet Cutout Sponsorship

During the height of the pandemic, when fans were not allowed in stadiums and humane societies across Alberta were feeling overwhelmed, we knew we needed to get creative to help support our community. Together with the Calgary Flames, we launched the Harvey's Hounds pet cutout section in the Saddledome. The pet cutout section was a fun and interactive way for sports and animal lovers to get a picture of their pet in the Dome while supporting a good cause. We raised over $2400 for the Cochrane & Area Humane Society to help support their overcrowded facility.

Pet Adoption

Are you thinking about getting a new furry family member? Consider adoption! Shelters are currently overwhelmed with animals that need permanent homes. When you adopt a pet, you are saving a life and helping overburdened shelters.

We are proud to partner with the MEOW Foundation. Browse their Cat-o-logue for adoptable cats today!

We are also huge supporters of the Cochrane & Area Humane Society. To learn more about their animals available for adoption, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and more, visit their website

the Hound

Harvey the Hound is the beloved mascot of the Calgary Flames. Introduced in 1983, Harvey was the first mascot in the NHL. Harvey is described by the Flames as being 6'6" and 200 lbs. He was acquired as the Flames’ "first pound draft pick" in 1983. Harvey is all about accessories (as you can see by his collar and belt) and loves browsing our selection of customizable dog tags!

Ralph the Dog

Following in the paw prints of Harvey the Hound, Ralph the Dog, was the CFL's first ever mascot! Ralph is in his 41st season with the Stamps and has five Grey Cup rings. As described by the Stampeders, Ralph stands 6 paws and 3 tails high and "signed as a flea agent in the summer of 1975". To keep Ralph free from fleas, he uses the Buster Flea Comb!

Farley the Fox

Farley the fox was born in 2004 at the annual Teddy Bear Toss as a donation by the one and only Flames mascot, Harvey the Hound. Farley has been delighting Hitmen fans ever since. He is described as tall and furry and swift and fast. For obvious reasons, Farley has a soft spot for stuffed animals - his favourite being the Kong Floppy Knot Fox!

Howie the Honey Badger

When it comes to fearlessness, honey badgers and lacrosse players come to mind. Howie the Honey Badger represents the Calgary Roughnecks character on and off the floor. Howie recently cheered the team to victory in the 2019 NLL championship and can be seen around the community with the NLL Cup. As his name implies, Howie loves his honey treats
